The 76 foot long fishing vessel Neptune sank while moored in the harbor at Haines, Alaska.  No one was on board at the time of the sinking.  A spill was spotted around the sunken vessel as the Neptune had some 2,000 gallons of diesel fuel on board. Local authorities placed a boom around the Neptune to contain the spill.  A diver was called to close fuel vents to prevent further fuel leaking into the water.  The Coast Guard has contacted the Neptune’s owners and arranging clean-up efforts.
