The 87 meter long ro-ro passenger ferry Ullensvang allided with the quay at Hareid, Norway. There was no injuries, but the  ferry’s trapdoor became stuck. An excavator was used to pry the trapdoor open again to allow vehicles to disembark. Reports state the Ullensvang was undamaged and continued on its scheduled voyage.

The 100 meter long, 5200 dwt cargo vessel Sardius ran aground on the North Sea Canal at Ijmuiden, Netherlands. The Sardius had veered onto a shoreline dike, but was able to refloat itself a short time later. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. The Sardius was able to continue on its voyage to Amsterdam.  Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

On November 24, the 81 meter long, 3054 dwt cargo vessel Hilmi K ran aground near Yenikale, Turkey. The Hilmi K was aground only a few hours before it was able to refloat itself.  The cargo vessel proceeded to a nearby anchorage where it was to be inspected. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
