On December 14, the lighter MV Labs 1 sank near the outer anchorage of Chittagong, Bangladesh. The MV Labs 1 was carrying a cargo of 1050 tons of cement clinker when it was struck by another vessel.  The lighter suffered water ingress and began to sink. The crew alerted the coast guard who dispatched a rescue ship to the scene. All 13 crew of the MV Labs 1 were safely rescued. No reports of injuries.

The 22 meter long passenger  ferry Nordic Sea became disabled off Myre, Norway. The Nordic Sea was on its schedule voyage between Myre and Økesnes when its propeller was fouled by a rope. The ferry requested assistance with a NSSR lifeboat responding. The lifeboat pulled alongside the Nordic Sea and assisted pulling the ferry back to port of Myre. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

On December 8, the 110 meter long self-propelled tanker-barge Vidi suffered damage while on the Rhine near Rheinbrohl. The Vidi was proceeding when a number of barges broke free from its moorings due a sudden rise in the river. The barges were loaded with 2300 tons of sunflower drifted into the fairway and struck  the Vidi in the bow. The Vidi sustained significant damage and water ingress, but the cargo tanks remained intact. The Vidi proceeded to Andernach where it unloaded its cargo before heading to the repair yard. No reports of injuries. Reports state damage was over 100,000 €.
