On April 11, the coastal tanker Ningda 10 (mmsi: 412750390) ran aground in the East China Sea off Zhoushan, China. The Ningda 10 was en route to Ningbo when it ran up on the rocks off Zhoushan. The tanker sustained hull damage and the engine room was quickly flooded. Authorities were alerted and the rescue vessel Dong Hai Jiu 118 was dispatched to the scene. The Dong Hai Jiu 118 arrived and rescued all 7 crew safely. No reports of injuries. No details reported if the Ningda 10 has released any pollution or not.

On April 10, the 124 meter long, 7623 dwt tanker Aziz Torlak ran aground off Dakhla, Western Sahara. The Aziz Torlak was headed for Dakhla from Cartagena fully laden when it struck bottom at the entrance to the port. Authorities were alerted and found the tanker aground, but no hull damage or pollution released. Reports state tugs will attempt to refloat the tanker on the rising tide.

On April 6, the 150 meter long, 14357 dwt container ship Barrier ran aground of Beira, Mozambique. The Barrier had been at anchor off Beira when it struck bottom while leaving the anchorage. The boxship sustained damage and became disabled. A tug was dispatched and took the Barrier under tow to Durban for repairs. No reports of injuries or pollution released.
