Tsunami: Taiki Maru No. 71

 

The fishing vessel Taiki Maru No. 71 was blown ashore during the tsunami at Kesennuma, Japan.   The vessel now rests high and dry on a wall in a canal.  Eight of the crew are known to have survived.   The eight crewmen returned to Indonesia on March 20, 2011.

Suwa Maru No. 82

The fishing vessel Suwa Maru No. 82 was struck by the tsunami while in port at Onahama, Japan.  The Suwa Maru No. 82 was partially push atop the pier at a steep angle.   The bow of the Suwa Maru No. 82 is high and dry while the stern still in the water.

 Chokai Maru

The 150-foot fishing vessel Chokai Maru was struck by the tsunami while in the harbor at Higashimatsushima, Japan.   The tsunami pushed the Chokai Maru onto a pier where it is currently stuck.
