Sea Moon

The 190 meter long, 57012 dwt bulk freighter Sea Moon suffered an explosion in it’s cargo hold while in the Atlantic Ocean near Bermuda.   The explosion injured one crew man, but the vessel was undamaged.   The Sea Moon diverted its course to Bermuda where the injured crewman was taken to hospital.  The vessel will also be surveyed for damage.  The Sea Moon was en route to Karachi, Pakistan from New Orelans with a cargo of coal.

Atlantic Diana Fire

Atlantic Diana Fire

The 29,266 grt tanker Atlantic Diana suffered a fire in the engine room 450 nautical miles off Bermuda.  The fire started from the exhaust from the main engine generator.   The fire was extinguished by the vessel’s fire fighting system.   The master of the vessel reported that all crew on board were safe and the Atlantic Diana was proceeding to Tuxpan, Mexico.
