Tropic Sun Aground

The 122 meter long, 7450 dwt boxship Tropic Sun went aground off Salt Island, British Virgin Islands (18.3687°N 64.5356°W).   The Tropic Sun was heading for St. Martin from Tortola when it ran onto the rocks.   The boxship suffered some damage to it’s hull including bending its bulbous bow hard to port.   However, there is no reports of leaks or pollution being released.   No reports of injuries Luckily, the vessel just missed a prior shipwreck, the RMS Rhone, which sank in 1867.  The Wreck of the RMS Rhone is a National Park and is a popular diving spot.
