The 47 meter long, 499 gt water tanker Tonny ran aground on Brottøy near Raftsundet, Norway. The tanker was proceeding from Myre when it ran aground just off the shore. The bow of the Tonny was holed and the tanker suffered water ingress.

The crew requested assistance with a NSSR lifeboat and tug responding. The vessels failed several times to pull the Tonny free until it finally refloated with the rising tide. No reports of injuries to the three crew on board. The cause of the grounding was not reported.

The 72 meter long, 1465 dwt bulk freighter Sveabulk ran up on the rocks at Brottøy, Norway.  The Sveabulk suffered a small hole in the forepeak along with four meter long dent along the keel.  No reports of injuries.  The crew moved the vessel’s excavator from the forepeak to the aft to help free itself from the rocks.   A tug was on scene and assisted in refloating the Sveabulk.    The Sveabulk was travelling in ballast from Stokmarknes en route to Blokken where a cargo of gravel awaited.  The Sveabulk proceeded to Harstad for repairs.
