On July 16, the 74 meter long ro-ro passenger ferry Freja ran ashore in the Jungfru Sound  at  Ekerö, Sweden. The Freja had suffered engine problems as it approached the quay at Ekerö . Without power the ferry was unable to maneuver and ran onto the shoreline. Authorities were alerted and one passenger was treated for minor injuries.  The Freja sustained some damage and a small amount of oil was released into the water. Authorities placed the booms around the vessel to prevent any further pollution.  The Freja was reloated several hours later.  The incident is under investigation.
