Ficaria Seaways

The 230 meter long, 11665 dwt ro-ro ferry Ficaria Seaways broke free of its moorings at Gothenburg, Sweden due to the severe weather.  The lines holding the stern to the quay broke allowing the vessel to swing out into the river.  Tugs were sent to the scene, but were unable to push the vessel back into position.   The tugs attempted to drag the ferry to another berth when it bottomed-out causing damage to its propeller shaft and rudder.  Reports state the water levels rose some 1.5 meters above normal due to the storm.  No reports of injuries or pollution being released.
