Highspeed 5

The 85 meter long, 407 dwt ferry Highspeed 5 was struck by the vessel St. Helena at port of Mykonos, Greece.  The St. Helena had suffered engine failure and drifted into the pier and the moored Highspeed 5.   The ferry suffered a small gash in the hull above the water line, broken railing and damage to its drivetrain.   No reports of injuries on either vessel and no pollution was released.  The 102 passengers scheduled for a voyage from Mykonos to Tinos-Syros on the Highspeed 5 were transferred to another ferry.   The authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.
