KLIPPEN

The 20 meter long buoy tender Klippen went aground near Törevägen, Sweden.  The vessel was proceeding to check on buoys in the Kalix archipelago when it grounded.   The vessel suffered some damage to its hull.   No reports of injuries or pollution released.  The Klippen proceeded to a shipyard for repairs.  The authorities have launched an invesstigation into the incident.

The 86 meter long, 840 gt ferry Venus became disabled between Svanesund and Kolhattan, Sweden.  The ferry had suffered a broken propeller.   No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.   The Venus was taken to Gothenburg for repairs.   No further details reported.

The 88 meter long, 3740 dwt freighter Nina Bres went aground off Skåne, Sweden.   The vessel’s master had made a navigational error and steered the freighter toward the shoreline.  The vessel grounded a short distance off shore.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.  A tug was able to refloat the vessel both proceeded to Sydhamnen under its own power.   Divers will inspect the hull for damage.  Reports state the master had suffered from a sudden illness which was the probable cause leading to the incident.
