Crabber Adrift off Lyme Regis

The 25 foot long, 26 ton fishing boat became disabled off Lyme Regis, Dorset.  The crab boat had suffered engine failure during the night and had gone adrift in force 3 southwest winds.  The Exmouth RNLI crew was alerted and dispatched the lifeboat R and J Welburn to the scene.  The RNLI crew arrived an hour later and found the fishing boat in the dark with its two crew. Ocean Way

The fishing vessel Ocean Way sank in the North Sea off the Farne Islands, Northumberland, England. The Ocean Way had run into difficulty 100 miles off the coast.  Authorities were alerted when the trawler’s emergency beacon began transmitting.  The Humber Coastguard sent out the alert to ships in the area while RAF helicopters were dispatched to the scene.
