The fishing vessel Ocean Way sank in the North Sea off the Farne Islands, Northumberland, England. The Ocean Way had run into difficulty 100 miles off the coast.  Authorities were alerted when the trawler’s emergency beacon began transmitting.  The Humber Coastguard sent out the alert to ships in the area while RAF helicopters were dispatched to the scene. One helicopter found 2 survivors and the body of the master of the Ocean Way.  The 2 crew men were taken to hospital for treatment.  Authorities searched for the remaining 2 missing crewmen through the night before ending operations the following day.  The Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) has launched an investigation into the incident.
