Stena Transit

The 212 meter long ro-ro passenger ferry Stena Transit caught fire on the Humber off Grimsby.  The Stena Transit was coming from Rotterdam with 180 persons on board when the fire broke out in the vessel’s engine room.  The crew made an emergency anchorage and quickly extinguished the blaze. Dover Seaways

The 186 meter long, 6874 dwt ro-ro passenger ferry Dover Seaways struck the harbour breakwall while departing Dover, England.  The Dover Seaways, loaded with 320 passengers, headed out of the harbour around 8 a.m. on a regular run to Dunkirk.  As the ferry attempted to turn to pass through the harbour entrance it struck the breakwall.  The ferry sustained some bow damage while the breakwater sustained scrapes.
