Viktoria Lady

The 53 meter long fishing vessel Viktoria Lady ran aground  in Badcall Bay near Lochinver, Scotland. The fishing vessel struck a reef with the rocks puncturing the hull.  The vessel suffered water ingress, but the vessel’s pumps were able to control the flooding. No reports of injuries to the seven crew and no pollution was released. The Stornoway Coastguard helicopter and the RNLI lifeboat from Lochinver arrived on the scene.  The lifeboat remained on scene to monitor the situation until the Viktoria Lady…

Iuda Naofa

The 23 meter long fishing vessel Iuda Naofa sank off the Butt of Lewis, Outer Hebrides, Scotland. The trawler had sprung a leak in very rough seas and sent out a distress call.  A Coastguard helicopter was dispatched from Stornoway and reached the scene. The helicopter was able to drop a dewatering pump, but it was unable to bring the flooding under control.  The crew abandoned ship and went into the water.  The helicopter airlifted the 5 crew to safety….
