English Channel Collision
The 290 meter long bulk carrier Cape Canada collided with the 254 meter long bulk carrier Mei Hua Hai in the English Channel off the Lizard coast. The duty officer on the Cape Canada had made a mistake resulting in the collision of the two vessels. Both bulk carriers sustained some damage to the hull, but an inspection by the Coastguard found both vessels were still seaworthy.
