The 110 meter long, 3,746 dwt tanker Medkem Three ran aground on the Ouse River near Faxfleet, England. The tanker was proceeding to Goole on the Ouse during low tide when it struck a mud bank. The tanker was unable to free itself.  A tug was requested and was able to refloat the Medkem Three on the rising tide. The vessel was inspected and allowed to resume its voyage to Goole. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. Reports state the incident was due to human error.

The 88 meter long, 3041 dwt cargo vessel Bienville ran aground on the Ouse River off Old Goole.  The Bienville was headed to Goole with a cargo of lumber from Riga when dropped anchor waiting for improved condition when it ran aground.  Three tugs were dispatched to refloat the Bienville on the rising tide. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
