New Venture K112

The 15 meter long fishing vessel New Venture K112 ran aground on Seal skerry off Eday Island, Orkney Islands.  The New Venture had run aground in strong tides and was pushed onto the rocks. The three crew on board contacted authorities. The Kirkwall RNLI lifeboat was dispatched to the scene.  The lifeboat found the New Venture listing to starboard, but not taking on water.  The lifeboat safely transferred the crew off the New Venture and stood by for the rising…

Disabled Fishing Boat off West Cork

A 90 foot long, 110 ton fishing boat became disabled off the coast of Seven Heads in West Cork, Ireland.  The crew of five on the fishing vessel requested assistance with the RNLI lifeboat from Courtmacsherry responding.  The RNLI lifeboat found the vessel adrift south of the Old Head of Kinsale.  The lifeboat took the fishing boat under tow and proceeded back to Union Hall.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
