The 49 foot long fishing vessel CKS ran aground and partially sunk off Sheep Island near Milford Haven, Wales.  The CKS had run onto the rocks off Rat Island near the entrance of the Milford Haven Waterway. The hull was damaged and the fishing vessel suffered water ingress.  The crew sent out a distress call with the RNLI lifeboat responding.  The lifeboat arrived a short time later finding the CKS aground in the shallows in a nearby bay.  The lifeboat transferred a dewater pump onto the CKS, but the situation became unsafe and the 5 crew along with 2 RNLI volunteers abandoning into the CKS’s life raft.  The RNLI lifeboat rescued everyone and proceeded to Milford Haven.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.  Authorities stated a boom will be placed around the vessel.  Reports state the CKS was to be recovered by the owner.

The 18 meter long fishing vessel Good Intent collided with the fishing vessel SIlver D off Ardglass, County Down, Northern Ireland. The Good Intent had struck the Silver D resulting in damaging  both vessels.  The Silver D suffered uncontrolled water ingress and sank.  The five crew on board on the Silver D were able to abandon ship into the vessel’s life raft.  The Silver D crew were rescued by the Good Intent.  The Good Intent had its own issues. The fishing vessel had sustained bow damage and was taking on water, but the vessel’s pumps had the flooding under control. The RNLI was alerted and dispatched the lifeboat from Newcastle to the scene. The RNLI lifeboat escorted the Good Intent back to Ardglass. No reports of injuries.
