On May 11, the 158 meter long container ship E. R. Tallinn allided with the lock wall in the Kiel Canal at Brunsbüttel, Germany. The boxship sustained damage to its bow along its port side. The E. R. Tallinn proceeded on to Kiel where it berthed for repairs. The following day the vessel continue on its voyage to Gdynia from Rotterdam. No reports of injuries or pollution released.

On April 24, the 20 meter long fishing vessel Elin Toril ran aground off Solligården, Norway. Reports state a crewman had fallen asleep at the helm and the vessel had run ashore. No reports of injuries to the 3 crew on board. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

Eternity

The 110 meter long self-propelled tanker-barge Eternity ran aground on the Wester Scheldt at Hansweert, Netherlands. The Eternity was proceeding with flammable liquids when it ran aground. Authorities were alerted and tugs were dispatched to the scene. The tugs were able to refloat the tanker and the vessels proceeded to Amsterdam. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
