On July 29, the 55 meter long, 100 dwt high-speed catamaran passenger ferry Flyingcat 4 allided with the breakwater at Rafina, Greece.  The vessel was heading into Rafina to dock with 209 passengers and 6 crew when it suffered a mechanical fault as it approached the breakwater.  The ferry sustained damage, but there were no injuries on board.  Greek coast guard dispatched vessels to the scene and transferred passengers off the ferry to shore.  Reports state divers were requested to inspect the hull for damage.

On May 19, the 110 meter long self-propelled tanker-barge Fint sprung a leak on the Rhine while berthed near Basel, Switzerland.  The Fint was bound for Birsfelden from Weil upon Rhine with a cargo of diesel fuel when it suffered water ingress in one of the cargo tanks. The crew was able to divert the cargo of fuel into another cargo tank.  Authorities were alerted and arrived on scene to monitor the situation. No reports of injuries or pollution released.

On May 2, the 188 meter long, 7885 dwt ro-ro passenger ferry Finnfellow allided with a quay at Långnäs, Åland Islands. The Finnfellow damaged a fender which broke off and sank in the harbour. No reports of injuries or pollution released from the ferry.  The port of Långnäs was closed to traffic for several hours until the fender could be pulled out of the sea.
