Gretchen

The 20 meter long passenger ship Gretchen ran aground in the Timmeler Meer near Timmel, Großefehn, Germany. The vessel was heading back to Timmel with 18 passengers and 2 crew when it became stuck. The vessel alerted local authorities who dispatched a  fire brigade rescue boats to the scene. The fire boats were able to assist the Gretchen free and escorted back to port. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

Gulf Justice

On August 25, the 55 meter long, 798 dwt offshore supply vessel Gulf Justice ran around in Port Mansfield, Texas. The vessel had been struck by Hurricane Harvey and was taking on water.  The crew sent out a distress call requesting assistance.  A tug was dispatched, but was not able to reach the offshore vessel due to the bad conditions and rough seas. Two Coast Guard helicopters arrived on scene and hoisted all 12 crewmen off the Gulf Justice. No reports of injuries.

The Gulf Justice was reported blown ashore and is now hard aground. The amount of damage was not yet reported and if any pollution was released.

 

Great Republic

The 193 meter long, 29135 dwt bulk carrier Great Republic allided a dock on the Cuyahoga River at Cleveland Ohio. The vessel had just entered the river when it sideswiped a dock. The bulk carrier was undamaged, but reports state the dock sustained some damage. No reports of injuries or pollution released.
