The 13 meter long fishing vessel Le Kevin ran aground off Saint-Vaast-La-Hougue, France. The trawler was heading back to port when it ran aground at the entrance at Saint-Vaast-La-Hougue. The local fire brigade and the SNSM responded to the scene. Booms were placed around the trawler and oil was removed off the vessel. The Le Kevin was later refloated and brought into port. Reports state a small of pollution had been released, but no reports of injuries.

Lelystad Lock Collision

On February 13, the 60 meter long self-propelled tanker-barge Noordereiland collided with the 64 meter long, 1469 dwt cargo vessel Bonita in the Houtrib Lock in Lelystad, Netherlands. The Bonita had entered the lock and was unable to slow down before it struck the stern of the Noordereiland. The tanker-barge sustained significant damage, but no reports of injuries or pollution released on either vessel. Authorities detained both vessels until an investigation into the incident could be completed. Reports state the Bonita had just returned back into services after repairs from an earlier grounding.

 

Lovund Superior

On February 5, the 25 meter long, 90 gt high speed ferry Lovund Superior ran aground near Lurøya, Norway. The Lovund Superior was proceeding with 3 people on board when it struck a reef and went hard aground. The Lovund Superior sustained hull damage resulting in water ingress. A distress call was sent out with the ferry Regine Normann responding.  The Regine Normann safely rescued all 3 off Lovund Superior.  The crew was later transferred to a passing fishing vessel.  No reports of injuries.  Efforts to salvage the Lovund Superior began a few hours later. Multiple vessels arrived on scene along with divers to inspect the hull. No reports of pollution released. No further details reported.
