The 2762 dwt ro-ro ferry Isis went aground on the outer Maas River after the ferry lost power. The Isis had left Rotterdam and was heading to Tallinn before going aground. Tugs were able to refloat the ferry and was taken to anchorage. No reports of injuries or pollution being released.
The 62,921 dwt boxship RHL Fidelitas collided with a pilot boat and allided with the concrete pier at the port of Odessa, Ukraine. The pilot boat’s stern was crushed and later sank at the pier. The pier itself sustained significant damage. The cause of the accident was due to a main engine failure on the RHL Fidelitas. No reports of injuries or casualties. An investigation into the incident is being conducted.
