The 4190 dwt tanker Volgoneft-119 ran aground on the Volga River near the 885 kilometer mark. The Volgoneft-119 was in ballast and was able to be refloated the same day. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
Volgo Don 5015 Aground
The 5152 dwt freighter Volgo-Don 5015 went aground on the Volga River near the 2938.5 kilometer mark. The freighter had struck a sand bar causing damage to its forepeak and water ingress with the bow thruster flooded. A tug has been dispatched to assist the freighter. The Volgo-Don 5015 had left Buzan and was headed for Kavkaz with 4351 metric tons of sulphur. No reports of injuries or pollution being released.
Volgoneft 215 Allision
The 4,500 dwt motor tanker Volgoneft 215 allided with Lock Number 4 on the Volgo-Baltic Canal, Russia. The Volgoneft 215 had left Yaroslavl bound for St. Petersburg with 4633 metric tons of heavy oil. The lock suffered damage while the tanker was holed on the port bow above the waterline. However, the tanker tanks were not damage and no pollution was released. The Volgoneft 215 proceed under its own power to Belousovskoye Basin for inspection.
