The 90 meter long cargo vessel Hestia ran aground off Skagen, Denmark. The Hestia was heading to Halmstad from Ijmuiden with a cargo of steel rolls when it became stuck on a sandbank on the receding tide. Authorities dispatched a rescue team to the scene to assist. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. Reports stated the vessel was to attempt to be refloated on the next high tide.
Jan Van Gent

The 143 meter long cargo vessel Jan Van Gent ran aground on the St. Lawrence River on Lake Saint-Pierre near Yamachiche, Quebec, Canada. The Jan Van Gent was headed to Hamilton, Ontario in ballast when it suffered engine and steering failure. The cargo vessel drifted out of the fairway and ran aground. Tugs were dispatched to the scene and refloated the Jan Van Gent later the same day. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. The Jan Van Gent proceeded to Montreal for surveys.
Avo Melro

The fishing vessel Avô Melro went aground just off the coast near Arrifana, Portugal. The vessel was in bad weather when it blown ashore. The six crew on board were safely airlifted off the Avô Melro and taken to Montijo. No reports of injuries. No further details reported.
