Moyuna Aground

The 15 meter long fishing vessel Moyuna went aground on the rocks off Ardglass Harbour, Northern Ireland.  The vessel sent out a distress call as the vessel developed a 30 degree list forcing the four crewmen on board to the life raft.  The fishing vessel Three Coins responded and safely rescued all the crew.   The Moyuna is being surveyed for damage.   No reports of injuries or pollution being released.  The MAIB is conducting an investigation into the incident.

90406-TS Disabled

90406-TS Disabled

The fishing vessel Nguyen Dinh Tuan 90406-TS became disabled Qui Nhon, Vietnam (16-20N 113-00E).  The squid fishing vessel had suffered engine failure and went adrift.  The crew was unable make repairs when the master contacted authorities.  A Vietnam Naval vessel HQ-628 responded to the scene and took the fishing vessel under tow.  No reports of injuries of the 35 crew on board the 90406-TS.

Prins Willem Alexander Aground

Prins Willem Alexander Aground

The 37 meter long, 100 dwt ferry Prins Willem Alexander went aground in dense fog on the breakwater pier at Flushing, Netherlands.   The 20 passengers on board were safely taken to shore by the pilot vessel Cetus.  A tug arrived and refloated the Prins Willem Alexander.  The ferry will be inspected for damage.  No reports of injuries or pollution being released.
