The 40 foot long fishing vessel Dawn capsized as it was leaving the harbour at Petersburg, Alaska.  The vessel rolled over to starboard and began to sink.  One crewman was able to climb out and reach the dock while the other crewman was forced to jump into the frigid waters and swim to a nearby vessel.  No reports of injuries.  An oil boom was placed around the vessel as some pollution was released.  The vessel was not insured.

The 150 meter long, 6309 dwt ro-ro ferry Norcape went aground in the harbour at Troon, Scotland.  The vessel was unable to refloat itself and requested a tug for assistance.  While the tug attempted to pull the Norcape free, a rope snapped injuring one of the crew.   The crewman was taken to hospital and later released.  The Norcape was reloated later that day.  No reports of damage or pollution being released.
