Collision near Singapore

The 188 meter long, 27176 dwt bulk freighter Dingxianghai collided with the 187 meter long, 41800 dwt freighter Dover Castle near Singapore.  The Dingxianghai was en route to Indonesia from Vietnam while the Dover Castle was en route from Italy to Sattahip, Thailand.   No further details reported.

The 60 meter long, 266 dwt icebreaker Eva-316 collided with the 100 meter long, 4400 dwt freighter Lettland in the Gulf of Riga near the island of Kihnu, Estonia.   Damage was slight on both vessels with the Lettland suffering a small 40 centimeter hole along its hull.   The Lettland continued on to Iggesund from Pärnu while the Eva-316 continued with its icebreaking duties.  No reports of injuries or pollution being released.

The 15 meter long fishing vessel Good Fellowship BK172 and the 11 meter long fishing vessel Trustful A74 became disabled off Tynemouth, England.   The trawler Trustful had become disabled when its propeller had been tangle in their nets.  The Trustful was taken under tow by the Good Fellowship and headed back to port.   The vessels proceeded a short distance when the Good Fellowship became disabled when it’s propeller was fouled by some floating debris.  The Good Fellowship contacted the RNLI who dispatched a lifeboat from Tynemouth.   The lifeboat took both vessels under tow back to harbour and berthed at the North Shields quay.   No reports of injuries or pollution being released.
