Remøybuen

Remøybuen

The 15 meter long fishing vessel Remøybuen became disabled near Ballstad, Norway.   The vessel’s propeller was fouled by a rope and the crew requested assistance.   The Norwegian Sea Rescue dispatched a lifeboat to the scene and brought the vessel back to the station.   A diver went down and cleared the propeller of the rope.   No reports of damage, injuries or pollution being released.

Tugs Collide

Tugs Collide

The 26 meter long, 108 dwt tug Bugsier 14 collided with a 65 meter barge being pushed by the 242 meter long towboat Schubexpress 10 on the Elbe River near Neumühlen, Germany.  The barge had a gash along its hull while the stern of the Bugiser 14 suffered some damage.  No reports of injuries or pollution being released.  The authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.

Maverick Dos

Maverick Dos

The 39 meter long, 44 dwt high-speed ferry Maverick Dos went aground in the Balearic Islands, Spain.   The ferry was operating on a route from Ibiza to Formentera with 21 passengers on board when it went hard aground.   One passenger was slightly injured.   The vessel contacted authorities and 21 passenger and 4 crew were safely evacuated and arrived at the port of La Savina.  Reports state there was some fuel leaked from the Maverick Dos.   The ferry can carry up to a total of  8,400 liters of diesel fuel in two tanks.   Authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.
