The 85 meter long self-propelled barge Asana ran aground on the Waal River near Nijmegen, Netherlands.   The Asana had its bow strike bottom while passing under the Waal Bridge.   No injuries, damage or pollution released.  Another self-propelled barge Amara came to the assistance of the Asana.  The Amara was able to pull the Asana free.   Both vessels were able to proceed on their voyages.

Adler Vienta

Adler Vienta

The 53 meter long passenger ship Adler Vienta allided with a pier on Usedom Island at Ahlbeck, Germany.  The Adler Vienta suffered damage to its hull and railings.  Three passengers were slightly injured.   The remaining 34 passengers and six crew safely disembarked.   The water police has launched an investigation.    Reports state the crew were given drug tests and the results were negative.   The Adler Vienta was later allowed to proceed on its voyage to Swinoujscie.
