Hamed II

The 45 meter long supply vessel Hamed II sank off the breakwater at Al Hamriya Port, Dubai, UAE.   The Hamed II was at anchor riding out bad weather with gale force winds and waves up to six meters when the anchor line snapped and the vessel went adrift.   The Hamed II was quickly swamped by the waves and sank some 30 meters off the breakwater.   Five crewmen were able to escape, but the master of the vessel was reported missing.   The Hamed II rests in 12 meters of water near the sunken tanker Lady Moon which sank the week before.  Reports state the vessel had no cargo on board.
