The 116 meter long, 7479 dwt tanker Wisby Verity collided with the 38 meter long ro-ro ferry Warnow in the Rostock Sea Canal near Hohe Düne, Germany.  The ferry was proceeding from Warnemünde to Hohe Düne with 6 passengers and 1 vehicles when it veered to avoid another ferry enter the port when it crashed into the Wisby Verity.    The Warnow suffered hull damage with some water ingress.   Two passengers on the ferry were injured and taken to hospital.   No reports of injuries or damage on board the Wisby Verity.   The water police have detained the Wisby Verity while they conduct an investigation.

The 168 meter long, 10320 dwt ro-ro freighter Massimo M suffered a fire in the Tyrrhenian Sea near Olbia, Sardinia.  The fire started in the vessel’s engine room disabling the vessel.   The crew was able to extinguish the blaze using the on board firefighting system.   No reports of injuries and damage was limited to the engine room.  Reports state the Massimo M was taken under tow to Olbia.

The 398 meter long, 158200 dwt container ship Eugen Maersk suffered a fire while crossing the Gulf of Aden from Jebel Ali.  The fire started in one of the containers and spread to two nearby containers.    The crew responded and tried to contain the blaze.   The vessel proceeded to an anchorage off Djibouti where a tug with fire-fighting equipment was able to extinguish the fire.   The Eugen Maersk proceeded to container terminal at Djibouti where it unloaded containers damaged by the fire.   The vessel is expected to proceed to Port Said.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.
