Wu Yi San
The 330 meter long, 318445 dwt VLCC tanker Wu Yi San allided with a jetty at Yoesu, South Korea. The Wu Yi San struck the pier causing damage to a pipeline. The pipeline released some 164 metric tons of amount of crude, naphtha and other oil compounds into the water. Authorities dispatched a response team to clean up the pollution. Reports state efforts to remove pollution from the ocean and a 10 kilometer stretch of seashore involving some 70 vessels. The tanker suffered only minor damage and was moved to an anchorage outside the port. No reports of injuries.
