The 136 meter long passenger ferry Stena Nautica allided with the breakwater at the port of Grenaa, Denmark.  The ferry was on a scheduled voyage to Varberg with 156 passengers and 68 crew when it struck the breakwater leaving Grenaa. The ferry suffered a 5 meter long crack below the waterline.  The vessel suffered water ingress, but the pumps were able to control flooding. The Stena Nautica returned to Grenaa and passengers were disembarked.  A boom was placed around the ferry to contain any pollution released.  Divers welded repairs the following morning.  Some 800 tons of water had to be pumped out of the ferry’s hull.   The Danish Maritime Authority launched an investigation into the incident.

The 86 meter long  barge Innovation II went adrift and allided with a wharf on the IJssel at Capelle, Netherlands. The barge had broken free from the self-propelled barge Innovation and struck the wharf. The wharf sustained some damage, but no reports of injuries.  An oil pollution team was reported on site.  The Innovation II did not cause the pollution, but the pollution may have resulted in the barge breaking loose.
