The 77 meter long cargo vessel Haci Suvari ran aground on the Aegean Sea near Beşiğe Point, Turkey.  The Haci Suvari departed from Akçansa Port with 900 tons of clinker when it grounded just outside the Dardanalles.  No reports of injuries.  Authorities dispatched a tug to the scene.  No further details reported.

The 70 foot long, 140 ton towboat Jim Marko sank on the Mississippi River off the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge near St. Louis, Missouri.  The  reason for the vessel sinking was unknown, but the four crew on board were able to abandon ship and later rescued.  Fuel pollution was spotted on the surface.   Reports state the Jim Marko had some 10,000 gallons of diesel fuel on board.  Authorities have dispatched a pollution control team to the area to contain any pollution released.  The Coast Guard has launched an investigation into the incident.

The 122 meter long ro-ro passenger ferry Hardanger allided with the quay at Tau, Norway.  The ferry was approaching the quay when it suffered a power blackout after the main engine failed.  The Hardanger was unable to slow down and struck the quay damaging its bow and broke concrete off the quay.  No reports of injuries. The ferry was able restore power and back off the quay.  The Hardanger reversed back into dock to allow the vehicles to disembark.  Divers were contracted to inspect the ferry for damage. Norwegian authorities have launched an investigation  into the incident. The ferry was coming from Stavanger with 105 passengers and 11 crew.
