Saint Laurent
On June 18, the 91 meter long, 4954 gt passenger ship Saint Laurent allided with a lock wall on the St. Lawrence River near Massena, New York. The cruise ship with 274 people on board was en route to Toronto from Montreal when it struck a concrete wall bumper as it approached the Eisenhower Lock. Seventeen persons on board suffered minor injuries and taken to hospital and later discharged. The Saint Laurent’s bow sustained heavy damage, but no pollution was released.
