The NSSR 14 meter long lifeboat Bill ran aground onto the rocks near Mandal, Norway. The NSSR lifeboat had struck the rocks damaging the hull on both sides. The vessel sustained water ingress and released some oil into the water. One crewman on board sustained minor injuries.   Booms were placed around the lifeboat until a crane barge arrived and removed the Bill off the rocks.

TAKESHIO

The 185 meter long, 38494 dwt cargo vessel Takeshio ran aground on the Amazon River near Santarém, Pará, Brazil.  The Takeshio was proceeding up the river with a cargo of wheat when it became stuck on a sandbar.  Reports state the river level was just 1.3 meters compared to 2.7 meters last year. There was no injuries, damage or pollution released.

On November 6, the 16 meter long survey vessel Lotty ran aground on the rocks in Örefjärden near Nordmaling, Sweden.  Authorities dispatched aircraft to the scene and found a sheen of pollution around the grounded vessel. Two vessels were dispatched to the scene. One laid out booms around the Lotty while the other began to removal of the remaining fuel on board the Lotty.  Initial investigations found some 350 litres of diesel fuel had been released. No reports of injuries.  Reports state the Lotty will be salvaged.
