The 110 meter long self-propelled barge Goudvis 2 caught fire on the Outer Maas near Barendrecht, Netherlands. The fire started in the vessel’s engine room which disabled the Goudvis 2.  The barge drifted until it ran aground off Koedoodse. The crew requested assistance with another barge, fire boat and KNRM lifeboat arriving on scene. Local firefighters were transferred onto the Goudvis 2 and the fire was extinguished within an hour.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.

An offshore oil platform caught fire  in the Gunashli oilfield in the Azerbaijan section of the Caspian Sea. The fire started after strong winds had damaged a gas pipeline on the platform.  Some 32 crew were rescued even as bad weather has made rescue operations difficult. Weather in the area has strong winds and waves reaching up to 10 meters.

Conflicting reports state the number of  crew on board the platform at the time of the fire. Numbers vary between 63 to 75 crew who were on board.  Rescuers did recover 1 person who was killed in the fire, but the remaining crew were still reported as missing.

The 67 meter long, 1321 dwt cargo vessel Nyfjell ran aground off Risøya, Norway.  The Nyfjell was en route to Nordfjordeid with a cargo of gravel from Floro when it went aground. No reports of injuries to the five crew on board. Two tugboats were dispatched to the scene to help refloat the vessel.The tug boats were able refloat the vessel and tow the Nyfjell to Måløy.  An inspection found the Nyfjell sustained some damage and had water ingress in the engine room, but the flooding could be controlled with pumps.
