The 27 meter long passenger ship Festijn ran aground near Breskens, Netherlands. The vessel had taken 26 passengers and 3 crew out on an excursion when it stranded during low tide. The crew requested assistance with the KNRM lifeboat responding. The lifeboat was able to safely evacuate 26 passengers and one crew to shore. The master and one crew remained on board to refloat the vessel on the high tide. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 207 meter long passenger cruise ship Horizon ran aground in Stavanger, Norway. The cruise ship had nearly completed its voyage from Calais when it ran aground on a sandbar just off the docks in Stavanger. The crew requested assistance with several tugs responding. Tugs were able to refloat the Horizon and the crusise ship berthed in Stavanger. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. The cruise ship remained in port while divers inspected the hull.

On July 21, the 24 meter long fishing vessel Lady Anna caught fire off Honolulu Harbor, Oahu. The crew was alerted as dense black smoke appeared from the engine room. The blaze was caused by a short circuit with the diesel generator  and quickly engulfed the longliner. The eight crew were able to abandon ship to another nearby fishing vessel Saphire III while firefighting vessels arrived on scene. No reports of injuries. Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze a short time later. The Lady Anna sustained significant damage, but remained seaworthy and was towed back to port.
