The 88 meter long, 4161 dwt cargo vessel Vita became disabled in the Celtic Sea near Ushant,, France. The Vita was en route to Puerto de Pasajes from Bremen with 3500 tons of steel when it suffered engine failure and power blackout. The crew requested assistance with the French authorities dispatching a rescue vessel to the scene. The 80 meter long rescue ship Abeille Bourbon arrived on scene and took the Vita under tow.  The two vessels proceeded to Brest.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 132 meter long, 4660 dwt tanker Volgoneft-210 collided with the 108 meter long cargo vessel Veles on the Azov-Don Sea Canal near Rostov-on-Don, Russia.  Reports state the vessels were proceeding in reduced visibility when the Volgoneft-210 struck the Veles.  The Veles sustained damage along the bulwark and main deck.  No reports of injuries or pollution released. Both vessels were ordered to proceed to Rostov-on-Don for surveys.  Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

On September 17, the 190 meter long, 57269 dwt bulk carrier Pan Crocus ran aground in the Persian Gulf off Mesaieed, Qatar. The tanker was approaching the port when it ran aground. The vessel requested assistance with four tugs responding. No reports of injuries. No further details reported.
