Amore on the Rhine

The 73 meter long self-propelled barge Amore became disabled after developing a significant list while on the Rhine.  The cargo on board the Amore was not adequately secured which led to the list.  Two other vessels, the Delta and Millennium, tied up to the Amore to help stabilize her.  Reports state there has been no water ingress and no one was injured.  The Amore was scheduled to sail to Emmericher.

Anja Disabled

The 9210 dwt freighter Anja was disabled at the entrance of the Dardanelles when it suffered an engine failure.   Authorities from the Traffic Services Center were able to send out the Kurtama 1 to the Anja to assist the vessel to a safe anchorage.   The Anja with 11 crewmen was to deliver 7848 tons rolls from Ceuta to Gemlik.   No reports of injuries, damage or pollution.

Allision on Elbe-Seiten Canal

The 86 meter long  tanker Eiltank 39 collided with a bridge near Lueder (Uelzen), Germany that spans over the Elbe-Seiten Canal.  The vessel’s steering house, including the controls for the vessel, were destroyed.   Authorties estimate the damage to be 30000 €.   Reports state the master of the vessel had forgotten to lower the hydraulic steering house to allow the vessel to pass safely under the bridge.  Luckily, the master was not injured in the allision.  The vessel was maneuvered to a nearby dock to wait for repairs.
