Around noon on September 25, the 85 meter long self-propelled tanker-barge Amici (MMSI: 211511880) sprung a leak on the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal near Wijk bij Duurstede, Netherlands. Authorities were alerted that the Amici, loaded with a cargo of manure, was taking on water. The local fire brigade was called out and found the vessel had sprung a leak. Aided by the self-propelled barge Salve (MMSI: 244670076) which help stabilize the Amici, fire fighters attempted to help seal the leak.

Reports state the master of the Amici was not on board the vessel during the incident, but he was notified and proceeded to the vessel.  The cause of the leak was not disclosed, but news accounts stated the vessel had suffered prior leaks in the past. No reports of injuries.

Adrift off Yeşilköy

On the morning of September 11, a 23-meter tugboat (name not disclosed) became disabled in the Sea of Marmara off Yeşilköy, Turkey. Authorities were alerted the tugboat was adrift off the coast.  The KEGM dispatched the 36 meter long tugboat Kurtarma 3 (IMO: 9335939) to the scene.  The Kurtarma 3 took the tugboat   taken under tow and proceeded safely to the Avcılar İDO Pier. There were no reports of injuries to the 2 crew, damage or pollution released.

Amazone

On the evening of September 11, the 25 meter long two masted schooner Amazone (IMO: 8136867) allided in the Bay of Kiel at Kiel, Germany. The Amazone was maneuvering in the Germania harbour when it’s bow sprit struck a bridge. Authorities stated damage was light with portion of the rail of the bridge only requiring repairs. The bridge remained in operating condition while repairs to the rail and lights.  There were no reports of injuries or pollution released.
