Collision in Marmara Sea

The 6138 dwt chemical tanker MRC Hatice Ana collided with a trawler in the Marmara Sea.  The six fishermen on board the trawler suffered severe injuries.   The injured men were taken to the Coast Guard who brought them to Silivri.   Awaiting ambulances took the men to the nearby hospital.  The MRC Hatice Ana suffered no damage in the collision and proceeded on its voyage.

Captain Joe

The 81 foot fishing vessel Captain Joe became disabled while off Cape Ann, Massachusetts.   The Captain Joe’s crew discovered that the vessel was taking on water with 6 feet in the bilge.  The crew contacted the Coast Guard for assistance.   The Coast Guard launched a 47-foot lifeboat along with a Jayhawk helicopter to the scene.  The helicopter reached the scene and lowered a dewatering pump to the trawler.  The lifeboat then escorted the Captain Joe back to Gloucester.   No reports of injuries of the four men on board the fishing vessel.

Coochiemudlo Island Ferry

The ferry-barge for Coochiemudlo Island went aground as it approached the loading ramp on the island.  The vessel was pushed by the wind as it approached the ramp causing it to turn sideways onto the shore.   The ferry had 20 passengers and seven cars on board at the time of the incident.  No reports of injuries or pollution being released.  Coochiemudlo Island is located near Brisbane, in Queensland, Australia.
