The 88 meter long, 3357 dwt freighter Katharina Siemer collided with the 89 meter long, 5045 dwt freighter Angon in dense fog at an anchorage off Brunsbüttel, Germany. Both vessels were detained at the anchorage by the water police. No reports of injuries or pollution released. The Katharina Siemer was en route to Le Legue from Sczcecin while the Angon was headed to Sczcecin from Puerto Marin.
Kriti II
The 194 meter long, 5339 dwt ro-ro ferry Kriti II caught fire near Patras, Greece. The fire started in the car deck with smoke billowing out from the decks. The crew fought the fire and were able to contain the blaze. When the vessel reached Patras, the 113 passengers were evacuated with the assistance of Coast Guard, fishing vessels and other local vessels. The local fire brigade fought through the dense smoke, but was able to extinguish the blaze a short time later. No reports of injuries. Some 40 of the 92 vehicles were damaged in the fire. Initial reports state the fire started in a refrigerator truck which had suffered an electrical short.

Kometa
The 153 meter long, 10113 dwt reefer Kometa became disabled in the Sea of Japan near Busan, South Korea. The Kometa had suffered an engine failure and gone adrift. No reports of injuries or pollution released. No further details reported.
