The general cargo vessel Myskhako went aground in the Volga-Caspian Channel with 5197 tons of steel cargo. The vessel was heading from the Volga delta city of Astrakhan, Russia for Bandar-e Anzali (Enzeli), Iran. Reports state the vessel requires tug assistance to be refloated.
The box container vessel Maersk Sembawang had over 25 containers go overboard and another 50 containers damaged in rough seas in the Bay of Biscay. The 87606 dwt vessel was on route to Zeebrugge, Belguim from asia, but was ordered to Le Havre, France to unload the damage containers.
The 206 foot motor vessel Mystic capsized and sank near Damas Cay, Bahamas. The vessel requested assistance after it had struct a submerged object resulting in water ingress into the vessel. The crew attempted to pump out the water, but the rate of water ingress was too much. The 10 member crew abandoned the vessel into liferafts when the vessel was close to capsizing. All 10 crew onboard were rescued and reported safe. Reports state pollution is likely to be released from the 8000 gallons of diesel fuel onboard the Mystic when it sank.
