Omskiy 135

OMSKIY 135

The 108 meter long, 3095 dwt cargo vessel Omskiy 135 ran aground on the Svir River near the 1102 kilometer mark. The vessel was headed to Husum, Sweden with 2534 tons of timber when a navigation error cause the vessel to run aground. No reports of injuries or damage.  Traffic was reported to be halted until the Omskiy 135 could be refloated.

 

Oraholm

The 106 meter long, 4987 dwt tanker Oraholm became in the Kiel Canal disabled near the Holtenau Locks, Germany. The tanker was entering the locks when it suffered engine failure. Two tugs were dispatched and towed the tanker out of the lock to a nearby quay. The crew were able to make repairs the following day and the Oraholm proceeded on its voyage. No reports of injuries or pollution released.

Ocean Eagle

The 101 foot long, 192 gt tug Ocean Eagle and its barge under tow ran aground in the Seymour Narrows near Campbell River, Vancouver Island, Canada. The pair had touched bottom while en route to Alaska with the barge loaded with general cargo.  Reports state both vessels were later refloated.  They proceeded to Menzies Bay where they will be inspected for damage. No reports of injuries to the five people on board and no pollution was released.
