Ofmar

The 120 meter long, 8950 dwt cargo vessel Ofmar ran aground on the Kiel Canal near Brunsbuettel, Germany.  The Ofmar was en route to Morocco from Estonia when it ran onto the embankment. A tug was dispatched and was able to refloat the Ofmar the following day. The Ofmar proceeded to Brunsbuettel to be surveyed. No reports of injuries or pollution released.

Ocean 03

On June 15, the 107 meter long, 7200 dwt cargo vessel Ocean 03 ran aground at the entrance to the port of Legazpi City, Philippines. The Ocean 03 was doing a maneuver en route into Albay Gulf when it ran aground some 900 yards off the entrance and struck a coral reef.  The vessel was later pulled free and proceeded to a nearby anchorage. No reports of injuries to the 21 crew and no oil pollution was released. Authorities stated some 2,000 square meters of coral reef was damaged and the vessel was detained while an investigation continued into the incident.

Oceanline 208

Oceanline 208

The 98 meter long dredge Oceanline 208 capsized off Pengerang, Malaysia.  The Oceanline 208 was carrying sand from Teluk Ramunia when it capsized after struck by large waves during the early morning hours.  One of the 15 crew on board was rescued by a passing vessel and alerted authorities of the incident. Authorities responded to the scene with multiple vessels with 10 divers on standby. The rescue vessels towed the Oceanline 208 to Tanjung Punga so that divers could conduct a search inside the overturn vessel for the missing crew. After searching the vessel, the efforts were suspended with no additional survivors found.
