Volgo-balt 244 Aground

The 114 meter long, 3248 dwt coastal freighter Volgo-balt 244 went aground off Løgstør, Denmark.  The Volgo-balt 244 was proceeding in ballast  from Gdynia to Thisted to load a cargo of ore.  Reports state the mate on the vessel had lost control of the vessel due to the difficult currents and strong wind.   The vessel rests on a sand bank and authorities are not worried of possible pollution being released.   No salvage date has been set.   No reports of injuries.

Vinalines Global Breakdown

The 225 meter long, 73,350 dwt freighter Vinalines Global suffered engine failure while leaving Brake, Germany.  The freighter was brought back to Brake where it is moored awaiting repairs.   The Vinalines Global was scheduled to sail to Ventspils, Latvia.   No reports of injury, damage or pollution being released.

Volgoneft-261 Aground

The 133 meter long, 4125 dwt tanker Volgoneft-261 went aground on the Sheksna River near the 597.8 kilometer mark.  The tanker suffered no hull damage and no leaks were reported.   The owner has made arrangements to refloat the tanker.
